Your ANN Community Needs You!

Want to develop your leadership skills and learn along side fellow educators dedicated to adult numeracy and math education? Consider running for a position on the ANN Board!

Check out the details of the process, including open positions, duties, and support for your candidacy below. 

The following positions on the Adult Numeracy Network Board of Directors are up for election in 2023:

  • Equity Officer
  • Representative to NCTM (National Council for Teachers of Mathematics)
  • Representative for Region 3 - Midwest
  • Representative for Region 4 - West
  • Secretary
  • Webmaster

ANN Board Candidate Application Process, 2023

All candidates for this position will need to complete the following 3 steps:

STEP 1: ANN Presidential Appointment Candidate Interest Form

Complete the ANN Board Candidate Application below.

The Nominating Committee will generate your DRAFT profile from the information and question responses you provide in the application. You can edit the profile as much as you’d like until May 1st. Finalized profiles will be publically shared on the ANN website by May 8th for members to view before voting.

STEP 2: Candidate interviews

Once we receive your application, Dee Crescitelli, Nominating Committee Chair, will email you with available days and times to meet between April 18 -29. During this meeting, the Nominating Committee will:
    1. Provide feedback on your profile
    2. Address any concerns or questions you may have.
    3. Ask you to respond to one final prompt about your interest in serving in ANN leadership that we will record via Zoom: Share some aspects of your math story that make you want to work with ANN leadership. 

      STEP 3: Submit revised profile by May 1st

      The Nominating Committee will generate your DRAFT profile from the information and question responses you provide in the application. You can edit the profile as much as you’d like until May 1st. Finalized profiles will be publically shared on the ANN website by May 8th for members to view before voting.

      Important Dates, Spring 2023:

      (EXTENDED): Deadline to submit ANN Board Candidate Application 
      April 18-29: Candidates have scheduled meetings with Nominating Committee
      May 1: Profile revisions due
      May 2: Slate of nominations submitted to the Board
      May 8: Candidate profiles posted to ANN site; election opens
      June 2: Annual meeting; election closes; officers announced
      July 1: New officers begin their term on the Board
      July 20-23: ANN Board Retreat (in-person in Ellijay, GA, and virtually)
